Bellagio Las Vegas

When the concept of writing a bucket list was first discussed, it was to encourage individuals to make the most of their time on earth and visit as many of the must-see places in the world as possible. Everyone’s individual tastes differ, however, meaning that every bucket list will be different and include a number of fascinating sights, sounds and attractions.

Despite this, there are a select few locations that are likely to remain on any travellers list. Take Las Vegas for example, which is home to the brightly-lit Vegas strip and some of the most thrilling entertainment options in the world. It is a mecca for adventurers and those with an innate sense of freedom, and a must-see location for anyone with a desire to live life to the full.

If you were to visit Las Vegas this summer, however, your biggest challenge would be determining exactly how to spend your time. So we have a created a short-list of  three favourite activities when visiting Las Vegas:

The Shark Reef Aquarium

The world is full of aquariums, most will likely associate this term with the tame and relatively restrained resorts. The word aquarium means something different in Northern and Central America, however, where there is a greater diversity of wild and marine life for visitors to enjoy. Take the Shark Reef Aquarium in Mandalay Bay, for example, which is home to some of the most fearsome creatures of the see alongside rays, sea turtles crocodiles and even a komodo dragon. There is even a 24-hour television channel devoted to the resort, although it is far better to see the animals in the flesh.

The Bellagio Casinos and Fountains

The Bellagio is one of the most iconic hotels and casinos in the world, and regardless of where you choose to stay this is a must-see attraction during your visit to Vegas. The casino experience is truly one to behold, with hundreds of tables and classic disciplines sat alongside row upon row of slot machine games. This is the type of location that enables bricks and mortar establishments to thrive in the wake of online platforms which now not only offer casino games, but provide information on casino strategy such as insightful roulette tips. The Bellagio fountains are stunning in their natural beauty, for example, with more than 1,214 spiralling spritzers shooting cool water 460 feet into the air at regular intervals.

Downtown Las Vegas

If you have ever watched the Nicholas Cage film Leaving Las Vegas, you could be forgiven for having a slightly different interpretation of the resort. This is because this movie was set in downtown Las Vegas, which is decidedly more seedy and dingy than the bright lights of the strip. The casinos and hotels here are far removed from the splendour of the Bellagio, although they offer a telling insight into the old town and its true identity. With downtown Vegas about to undergo significant regeneration, you may have limited time to view this region in all of its unadulterated glory.
