Believe it or not, there are wineries in Taiwan specializing in various fruit wines and liquors. Unfortunately, we’ll be waiting until springtime (primetime) to visit one, but we did manage to pick up this bottle of aboriginal rice wine from Neiwan, a small tourist town outside of Hsinchu. It’s delicious but tastes more like pineapple juice than the grape wines we typically drink back home. It reminds us a bit of Duplin wines, mostly because it is really sweet!
