If you only do one hike in Taiwan, make it this one: Teapot Mountain and Mt. Banping There are literally hundreds of hiking and climbing paths crossing through Taiwan’s rugged landscape. We’ve attempted a few, weather permitting, and have ultimately found varying degrees of quality and difficulty. Often ‘hiking’ equates more to climbing paved […]

There are lots of beautiful places in Taiwan. But more often than not, if a tour bus can access it, there will be oodles of people there. It’s inevitable. And although it still drives me crazy when I’m being elbowed incessantly while trying to get my Lantern Festival on, or being pushed around while snapping […]

Long Dong draws climbers from around Taiwan and even throughout Asia for its isolated climbing on sandstone crags up to 70m in height. There are over 500 routes, with options for sport climbs, trad, deep […]

It’s no longer a secret that Long Dong is one of our favorite places in Taiwan. World-class rock climbing, scuba diving, hiking, and dazzling seascapes await those who make the trek to the northeastern coastal town. That’s Casey being a bad-ass, enjoying the view while getting in a pretty good workout.

Yehliu Geopark is famous for its unique rock formations, featuring one hundred and eighty mushroom-like rocks in various stages of erosion. It’s a beautiful spot to walk around and snap some photos. Bonus points if you send us a photo of you rocking out with the rockin’ rocks.

Dan loves to surf. (He attributes it to attending University about five minutes from beautiful North Carolina beaches.) Unfortunately the west coast of Taiwan doesn’t offer too much to surfers.
