New York City holds a very special place in our hearts. It was the very first place that we traveled to together as a couple. We had traveled quite a bit with family and by ourselves before our first trip to NYC through the “Snowpocalypse” of 2009, but Casey had always told me we needed to travel together before we could get married. We believe every couple should travel together before you make the lifelong commitment. It really brings out the best (and the worst) in you.
I think it’s safe to say I passed the test and so returning to the city to walk around and enjoy it’s holiday festivities has been a real treat. Bryant Park, pictured above, is a small park with an ice skating rink right in the heart of Manhattan. It’s not as crazy as Central Park or Rockefeller Center and was were we chose to ice skate during our NYC visit.
Have you ice skated in a city park? Is traveling one of your requirements for marriage material?

Ice skating in Bryant Park sounds perfect! So romantic :)
I also agree that you should travel together before getting serious (or married) :)
My first trip together with my boyfriend ended also up in a snowpocalypse while trying reaching Ljubljana – I’ve described some of the shameful moments in my last post about Ljubljana, and can really say that it really brought up as close as we are today!
And today, that is one of my dearest memory :)
Have fun in NYC you guys! And Happy New Year!!! :)
