Thanks for sharing it. I spent a lot of time hiking and riding in Tibet and found the locals to be most welcoming; I learned that the more sinister they look the more friendly they are.

I had a ‘chicken and rice’ meal at a roadside cafe in Cambodia that turned out to be rat and ginger. Gross. Every other meal I’ve had with locals in Asia has been ace though.
