Lovely shot, and it reminds me so much of our days in Sihanoukville. A bit dodgy at times, from what I saw, but only if you stayed out too late or ventured into no man’s land in this spot. Almost all of the people there were super kind, and so friendly…..and as for the hawkers, hey, it’s like visiting Bali. Culturally, these people are programmed to persist.

Some don’t go for the hard sell but others are masters of psychology.

They will beg you until you give in.

Turns many folks off, but it also creates a bunch of sales too. Hey I can’t blame them. I know myself that I either buy stuff I’m interested in or say “No thank you” with a bright, wide smile, and then I stop talking…..they leave me alone in seconds, wanting me to open my mouth again :)
