Haha I know, it should be a crime! We’ve since stayed at another all-inclusive and spent a lot of time in that pool to make up for it ;-) Great to hear that you found a good balance between relaxing at the all inclusive and experiencing the ‘real’ Thailand!

So true! Do anything for too long and it gets a bit dull. Though to be honest, if I never have to sleep in another hostel, I think I will be okay :-)

Haha that’s too funny about the morning ambience! Maybe a more intimate all-inclusive would suit you then? After our first experience in Cancun, we stayed in the most luxurious all-inclusive boutique hotel in Punta de Mita. Only seven rooms, and definitely no organized activities ;-P

Thanks Heather! I definitely think the key for people who like active travel is to make sure they get out of the resort for a portion of the day. It might not feel like you are getting your ‘money’s worth’, but your overall travel experience will be much better. And in my opinion, we always appreciate a bit of luxury more after a long, tiring day. :)
