Raja Ampat is one of the most famous, but under-explored tourism destinations in Indonesia. Located in the far East of the country off of the island of Papua, it is an archipelago of over a thousand emerald isles surrounded by the warm tropical waters of the Pacific Ocean.
This snapshot was taken on the first day of my week long trip around Raja Ampat. The children in the photo were enjoying a relaxing day playing on the golden sandy beach and splashing in the shallow waters by their small village. For me, it captures some of the joy of being a child and making the most of what’s around you.
