I took this photo from one of the floating Uros islands on the Peruvian side of Lake Titicaca in June this year. This is a place where it seems like the whole world is painted blue, punctuated with tiny specks of other colours by the inhabitants, their reed boats and the distant hills and mountains on the land.
Sam and Zab have been a couple since 2005 but have never really lived together. In January 2013, they flew to Buenos Aires on one-way tickets to start travelling full time together and try to make it as digital nomads. They enjoy seeking out vegetarian food (preferably organic and locally produced), contemporary art and meeting locals and expats alike. They can be found on their blog indefinite adventure, facebook, and twitter.

Thanks for including my photo! This was such a special place, but it was bloody cold – glad to be somewhere warmer now.

What a beautiful photo. The sky has the same color as the water, that is so amazing!

Great shot! We missed out on these islands, sadly, because of some civil unrest that blocked the roads…

The floating islands are colorful and a very interesting place to visit. I compared them to walking on a water bed. Your picture is beautiful and brings back fond memories!
