That’s too bad you didn’t get a chance when in Taipei–an excuse to come back and hunt down a Chinese Taipei game in the future. If you’re in Laos, then that’s not too far :-)

When we were in Taipei last year I was so desperate to see a game. I’ve absolutely no idea how the game is played, who I should be shouting for or anything; but being in a country where they hold baseball (and many other sports too) so highly that everyone is connected, just like you describe.

I know I’m the same when I go and watch my hometown’s football team play, singing at the top of my lungs with a beer or two swimming around inside :)
