The Batu Caves, located 8 miles north of Kuala Lumpar, Malaysia, is the site of 3 caves containing Hindu temples and shrines. To get to the temples and shrines, you must make a steep climb up 272 steps while fending off wild monkeys looking for food. The main attraction here, however, is the large golden statue of a Hindu god that stands at the base of the caves. The statue of Lord Murugan is the second largest Hindu deity statute in the world, second only to one in Nepal. It took three years to complete the construction of the golden statute, which was unveiled in 2006.

So many memories! What I loved the most about the Batu Caves were the monkeys, they were very cheeky but so incredibly cute!
Really good use of natural lighting to get the statue to glow like that.
