When this post goes live, we will have just touched down in our home state of North Carolina. After 82 days of epic adventures through Europe, we’re excited to be home—and to get rid of our lumpy snow clothes we’ve been lugging around. We won’t even have enough time to unpack our bags though, because in less than 24 hours we jump back on a plane to venture to a new country. And it’s one we have been dying to visit for quite some time now.
Where is it we’re going?
We’re off to Canada for a jam-packed five-day road trip!
The Great Coast Road Trip
We both have a special place in our hearts devoted just to road trips. (After all, the whole purpose of starting A Cruising Couple was to document our honeymoon road trip across the United States.) So when Coast Hotels reached out to us and asked if we wanted to participate in a leg of the Great Coast Road Trip, we replied with a hearty: HECK YES!
Our first time in Seattle during our honeymoon road trip. This is where we’ll be finishing our leg of the Great Coast Road Trip.
The trip is part of a 35-day campaign hosted by Coast Hotels that takes a fleet of eight sets of bloggers across Canada and down the U.S. West Coast. For our leg of the trip we’ll be cruising through British Colombia, with stops in Tsawwassen, Nanaimo and Victoria, ending the tour with a quick stop in Seattle to pass the car on to the next bloggers. We’ve got some great activities lined up for when we’re not exploring the open road, including national parks, beaches, whale watching, eating lots of local food—and that’s just the start! We’re kind of insanely excited about it all.
While we’re on the road, we’ll be updating our twitter, instagram and facebook channels with the hashtag #GreatCoastRoadTrip. We’ll also be blogging about the experience on the Coast Hotels blog, so be sure to follow along!
Want to win your own road trip excursion?
If you’re in British Colombia or Seattle, keep an eye out for our purple vehicle and us:
If you snap a photo of the car and tag it with #GreatCoastRoadTrip, you could win a variety of prizes, including your own road trip excursion. (You can also participate by uploading photos from your own favorite road trips around the world.) We should be pretty easy to spot, so keep an eye out! More contest details here.
After Canada
We won’t be slowing down (too much) after our epic road trip through Canada.
June 10th: We fly to Panama City to explore the vibrant city and surrounding areas. Last fall we went to Bocas del Toro and Boquete, but that was all we had time for. We’re really looking forward to getting to know a new region of Panama.
June 20th: We arrive in Brazil! We’ve got tickets to see one of the World Cup games (England vs. Costa Rica), but we also have plans to take our time and use our 90-day visas to dive into the culture. Please send us any suggestions and recommendations for our time there! Other than the World Cup Game in Belo Horizante on June 24th, our schedule is WIDE open.
Those are some amazing travel plans, particularly envious of you knabbing tickets for the World Cup. Have an absolute ball, Brazil (or at least the small amount I have been to) is amazing!

We are super stoked for Brazil, especially during the World Cup. We’ll be sticking around after the games to explore the country as well but it’s absolutely MASSIVE and I’m pretty much convinced it’s impossible to “do it all.”
Wow Casey! You are one busy couple. We are doing a little camping in BC and Alberta this summer as we check out Banff and Jasper National Parks, then Florida, Iceland, Faroe Islands, and northern France…Yep…We’ll be busy, too…just the way I like it. Have a blast!

Sounds like you’ll be all over the place as well! Can’t wait to hear about all of them, especially Iceland!
That sounds so exciting. I lived in Tacoma, outside Seattle for 3 months last year & it’s just gorgeous out that way. have fun!

It’s been a while since we were in Seattle and it was pretty dreary (as to be expected I guess.) We only have about 12 hours in Seattle this time around, but it will be fun to see it again :-)
You guys will love Victoria, it such a beautiful little city. I would recommend heading to Moss Street Market in Fairfield if you are there on a Saturday and watch the Goat run at Beacon Hill Park. Looking forward to reading about your experience in beautiful BC :)

England v Costa Rica! Come on England! :-)
Wow guys that is a short time to be home <24 hours but it sounds great that you'll be retreading your honeymoon destination.
Have a fabulous time. Look forward to reading about how it goes.

This contest sounds like so much fun. I live in Seattle and would love to meet up with you guys if you have some spare time! Enjoy your road trip. I adore Canada and all its beauty! I am actually heading to Victoria soon for a nice little getaway.
We would love to meet up, but unfortunately we are only in Seattle for about 12 hours :-/ Have you been to Victoria before? We’ve only heard amazing things.
No, I have not and am extremely excited to check it out. From the pictures, it looks amazing! Too bad you will not have time. Enjoy your road trip!
